After looking at the results of the survey I can see that most people were aware of what happened to the News of the World and what they did. Most people were unhappy about what they did and wouldn't have liked it happening to them and there were few that didn't mind or were unaware of it or didn't know what happened. In general most people would agree that they didn't do a good thing and wouldn't like it happening to them.
However, most people weren't that aware of the details of story and it strikes me as an example where the media has blown up the importance of the story. People who aren't involved in either journalism or politics aren't that bothered by the phone hacking scandal. Young people in particular had very little interest in it despite the massive amount of coverage in newspapers and on TV.
